460W Plug-in Solar Kit - British Assembled
Single panel on a ground frame. For gardens and patios, not balconies.
- Not suitable for balcony mounting. Gardens and patios only.
- Ballast is not included. The frame needs weighting down and how much depends on how exposed your site is.
- This item ships within 14 days of August 27th
- Notify your electricity network operator under G98 before you connect. It is free and takes a few minutes.
Pay in full, or spread the cost with Klarna. Klarna's options are shown at checkout.
Klarna is the provider, not PlugPanel. Subject to eligibility, status and approval. UK residents aged 18 and over. Missed payments may affect your ability to borrow from Klarna in future. Terms are set by Klarna.
Ships to England, Wales and Scotland. Northern Ireland sits outside SI 2026/848, so we cannot supply plug-in kits to NI addresses.
What you are getting
One 460W panel on a mounting frame designed and made in Sheffield. The simplest way to start generating your own electricity, and the least to find room for.
The microinverter is the same 800W unit fitted to the larger kits, so there is nothing holding this one back electrically. On a bright day the panel is the limit, not the inverter.
Assembled in Great Britain with a 10 year British warranty and UK based support.
What would this actually save you?
Payback depends far more on when you use electricity than on the size of the kit. These are your numbers, not a headline figure.
This decides everything. Out all day and it is nearer 30 per cent. Home most days with a fridge, a freezer and a hot water tank, 70 or more. Anything you do not use goes to the grid and earns nothing.
Estimates, not a promise. Real output depends on siting, shading, how clean the glass is and what the weather does. We would rather show you a cautious number now than a disappointing bill later.
What you get
One 460W bifacial panel
TOPCon N-Type, glass to glass, all black. 1762 x 1134 x 30mm, 25.5kg, 96 cells, 23.0% efficiency. Bifaciality up to 80%, so it picks up light reflected off the ground as well as direct sun.
800W smart microinverter
The same unit fitted to the larger kits, so nothing here is holding the panel back. Output capped at 799VA, which is the legal ceiling. IP67 rated with anti-island protection.
AC cable with fitted plug
Factory fitted. Extension leads are not permitted with a plug-in kit.
Mounting frame, made in Sheffield
Designed and manufactured in Britain. Adjustable, so you can set the pitch. recommend around 35 degrees facing south.

Worth knowing
Ballast
Not supplied. The frame must be weighted down, and the right amount depends on your site and how exposed it is.

Questions people ask
Can I put this on a balcony?
No. This is a ground mounted system for gardens and patios. Balcony kits are a different product and arrive in October.
Why does 460W of panel only give 799VA?
It does not lose anything. A 460W panel will rarely exceed 799VA in British conditions, so the cap is not the limiting factor here. The inverter is the same 800W unit fitted to the two panel kits, which means there is headroom rather than a bottleneck.
How is this different from the 890W Duo?
Both cap output at 799VA, so the peak is identical. The Duo has two panels, which means it reaches that peak earlier in the morning, holds it later into the evening, and gets closer to it on overcast days. Over a year that is meaningfully more electricity. This kit is the simpler option if space or budget is tighter.
What is ballast and why is it not included?
Weight to stop the frame moving in wind. It is not supplied because the right amount depends entirely on your site, how exposed it is and what surface the frame sits on. Paving slabs are the usual answer. The installation manual covers what is needed.
Do I have to tell anyone I have installed it?
Yes. G98 notification goes to your electricity distribution network operator, not your energy supplier. It is free, takes a few minutes, and must be done before you connect. Our free postcode checker tells you which operator covers your address.
Can I add a battery?
Not as part of a plug-in installation. Battery systems are excluded from the plug-in microgenerator category in law, so anything sold as a plug-in kit with storage does not qualify. The microinverter has the capability, but using it that way would take the system outside the plug-in rules.
